Spring is almost here! Now is the time best to get cracking on your vegetable patches. So here is our tips and advice for a marvellous March.
– COMPOST UP: Approximately 5cm must be dug into the designated soil and then compost added. Well rotted manure and green waste can be added too which will help in the preparation for the upcoming growing season.
– PLASTIC: Covering seed beds with sheets of black plastic keeps the soil drier and warmer which creates a perfect environment for planting.
– SEASONAL VEGETABLES: Providing that the soil is unfrozen and free of water, plant potatoes, carrots, radishes, lettuce, cloches, asparagus, onion, shallots and garlic sets.
